There are a few basic steps to complete in order to join the AWA program:
- Read the AWA standards for the species you wish to certify and confirm your slaughter plant is open to a review by one of our trained slaughter specialists (if applicable).
- Apply online or by mail.
- Once we receive your application, an Eligibility Coordinator will get in touch to review your application and set up a farm audit and plant visit (if applicable). Audits are conducted annually to confirm compliance.
- If you need to make any changes to achieve compliance, we will support you in finding a solution that works for you and your farm.
- Once we receive your certification affidavit and your farm is approved, you will receive a Welcome pack. You can then start using the AWA logo and access our full range of services!
